The Gnome Project is a donation-based creative project centered around the cute hanging gnomes that I lovingly create, knit/crochet and assemble.

After chemotherapy, I developed CIPN(chemo-induced peripheral neuropathy) in my hands. This causes numbness, tingling, cramping/spasms and reduced dexterity. 

Knitting/crocheting and assembling these gnomes has become part of my healing journey. It helps me to build strength and dexterity while reducing the symptoms. What started as a hobby has become a form of occupational/physical/emotional therapy all in one.

Because of that, I am not selling these gnomes in the traditional sense. Instead, I am inviting donations so that I can continue the therapy of creating and share these little bundles of comfort and joy with others.

While any and all donations are greatly appreciated, here is a transparent breakdown of what it costs for me to create each gnome:

• $10 Donation - Materials. Including yarn, faux fur, wooden beads/rings, macramé cord, craft sticks, glue sticks, ink/transfer paper/blanks, poly fill, etc.

• $25 Donation – Time($15/hour is minimum wage). It takes approximately 2 hours to create each gnome: 1 hour for the knitting/crocheting and 1 hour for the prep and assembling.

• $30 Donation – Covers both materials and time. Sponsors future gnomes/special requests.

This project allows me to continue on my healing journey while sharing something meaningful with the community.
